I used to journal. It was a great way to reflect and very entertaining to read years later. I think I stopped about 10 years ago. I’ve thought about picking it up again, but never seem to make the time – plus journals are made of paper. Who uses paper anymore? I’m a little behind the curve here, but I’ve finally started this blog. Originally, I meant it to be just for myself, but over the last 2 years I’ve picked up some new interests and refocused on some old hobbies that I want to share with others.
I should introduce myself. Hi, I’m Krissy. I’m a Christian, wife, mom, computer nerd by day, outdoor lover and DIYer. I love to try new things. New food, new projects, new adventures. I’m all in. I love to learn and have focused lately on diving in deeper to things I’m interested in. In 2014 my husband and son bought me a sliding compound miter saw for my birthday because I wanted to learn more about woodworking. Since then, I’ve built a bench for the saw, 2 outdoor dining sets, a coffee table, media center, toy storage for my kiddo and a potting bench. I have so many more projects I want to tackle (for both my family and my friends), but have this day job that takes up so much of my time… 🙂
Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot more time reflecting on who I am as a person. It’s so easy to get caught up in the craziness of life that I felt like I was starting to lose myself a bit. In 2015, I joined a program through my church called Next Generation Mentoring. Over the course of ten months, I had the opportunity to consistently connect with other 6 other women, in order to grow in my relationship with Christ and to understand the unique roles God has placed me in. I feel like I’ve grown so much in the last year and can focus on what’s important in my life. Love God and love people. That’s what it’s all about.
